🌟 End of Year at Greek to Me 🌟

 Hi!

It's been a hot minute since I last shared tales from the Greek to Me universe way back in September. I confess, I pressed pause on the October edition; life and work conspired to keep it in the drafts. And with time flying faster than Santa's sleigh, here we are, December 30, 2023, ringing in the finale of another extraordinary year.

💡 Reflections, not Resolutions

As the calendar turns its final pages, I'm skipping the resolutions year. Instead, I find solace in regular self-reflection, unburdened by the New Year's pressure. It's liberating, grounding, and a way to gain perspective.

Life unfolds across all seasons, not just during year-end festivities. Let's pledge to introspect consistently, forging a path to recognize, accept, and elevate our journeys.

But before we dive into 2024, let's hit the rewind button and relive the highlights of this last quarter at Greek to Me. So here's a toast to the unforgettable trio that was October, November, and December!

🚀 Jet-Setting through Work Wonderland

The past three months unfurled a captivating narrative. September tiptoed, but October kicked the tempo into high gear. November was a blink-and-miss-it whirlwind, and December, well, it's always a festive half-month, isn't it? From interpreting for football icons to rubbing shoulders with Ambassadors and Prime Ministers, from runway rendezvous to moonlit balls—discover the kaleidoscope of my recent escapades on instagram and scroll down to the photos.

🌐 A Global Gallivant: From Lectures to Vogue

My journey transcended borders and boundaries. From sharing wisdom at Manchester Metropolitan University's Career Day to delivering webinars and live lectures for the Panhellenic Association of Professional Translators Graduates of the Ionian University and London Metropolitan University, the recent adventures have been as diverse as the languages I weave.

🥂 And hold your breath—Vogue happened! Yes, Vogue.

It’s not every day you’re DMed to write a Festive Style Guide for Vogue Club, share your gifting ideas, Christmas rituals and beauty routines. Here's to many more!

✨ Reflecting on value

In my role as a legal and marketing translator and interpreter, I have spearheaded various projects that showcase the tangible value I bring to individuals and businesses.

Throughout the last few months, I've played a pivotal role in facilitating individuals' pursuit of new nationality by accurately translating and interpreting crucial legal documents, ensuring a smooth and precise process. And that's just one example.

In family, civil, commercial, and criminal court proceedings, my expertise has been instrumental in translating complex legal jargon, maintaining the integrity of legal discourse, and ensuring all parties involved comprehend the nuances of the proceedings. This has not only eased the emotional strain on individuals but has also contributed to fair and just outcomes.

On the marketing front, I have successfully adapted pet food marketing content, infusing it with cultural nuances to resonate with diverse audiences. Whether it's creating engaging campaigns for coffee, tailored for cinema and television, or assisting actors with accent adaptation, my role extends beyond language translation.

I contribute to crafting compelling narratives that capture the essence of the brand and resonate effectively with the target audience.

🗓️ Future Horizons: Fashion Weeks, Interpreting, CIOL Conference and Beyond

Mark your calendars for March 15, 2024! I'm thrilled to be part of the CIOL Translators Day 2024, sharing insights on managing change alongside other industry professionals. The panel will focus on translation tech. The day will close with the CIOL Awards ceremony honoured by the presence of HRH Prince Michael of Kent. Find out more here.

But that's not all! Get ready to witness the glamour and style of Fashion Weeks around the globe! February is set to be a runway of events jumping from legal interpreting, creative translations, and media writing to fashion shows and content creation. And you may be wondering what’s the relationship between fashion and translation. Well, they both require extreme attention to detail, passion, organisation, and love for doing things well. Besides, style and dressing is a language of its own. And have you ever wondered how fashion gets to be such global phenomenon? 😉
