The value of translation

It's difficult to think of translation as anything else other than replacing words from one language to another.
But such is the view of one who has never been a translator.
Ultimately, the job of a caring and professional translator is to see their clients fulfil their end goal.
And the goals vary depending on the industry clients operate in.
Speaking for myself, in April only, I helped:
a couple get married in Greece
a coffee brand launch their new summer coffee flavours
an individual avoid double taxation
an agency recruit new translators
a pet food manufacturer guide pet owners to make better choices for their pets' health
a luxury hotel launch a social media completion, gain brand awareness, and be fully booked for summer
a pioneering house appliances brand apply new technologies
a family and a school make a plan to secure a better future for a bright student
a development company bid and win a tender for property development on a Greek island
a luxury watch brand launch a campaign, and more.
You may wonder how. Well, through translation and interpreting services.
Because content always has a purpose.
When clients approach for translation or interpreting it is not because they want a document in another language.
It's because having that document, or being able to have a conversation in another language, brings them a step closer to their goal.
And that is the value of my work.
